  1. It seems to me there are several spots in Ontario where you get a view like this. A road as straight as a landing strip visible for miles. But, when you drive it you find the road descends to cross a river - often with a hamlet hidden amongst willows and other grand scale trees - then rises to place you back on the same heading. Who were these precise road builders that laid out these dead straight concession roads all those years ago??
