new forest ponies

little tract
The Little Tract is 200 acres of mixed forest criss-crossed by dozens of trails for hiking or biking. Nice variety of trees, plants, wildflowers, birds, bees, snakes, bugs and people. It was given to Wellington County in 1946 as a perpetual forest by John Little. Off County Road 34 between 32 and 35.

Henry's blooming trees
Many of the trees in my immediate neighbourhood were planted by Henry Kock many years ago. When they bloom I am reminded of his dedication and care. This particular one is coming out now in front of Joan Rentoul's book bindery.
