sulphur springs

"The Sulphur Spring is a constant flow supplying water to the Headquarters streams and ponds. The flow never varies in velocity and would be capable of filling 27 bathtubs with clear cold water every minute. The temperature of water also never varies, it remains at 9 degress C, thus never freezing in the winter."

It's interesting how these chickadees will come and eat from your hand even when there are numerous other piles of seeds lying around. They seem to genuinely like being fed by people.

how to make yourself more attractive

"A team of scientists at Oxford has shown that a simple word label can profoundly alter what we think our noses are telling us. When an experimental subject is given odorless air to smell but told he is smelling cheddar cheese, his olfactory areas light up in hungry anticipation. But when the same air arrives with a "body-odor" label, the subject unwittingly shuts down the smell areas of his brain. Although the sensation hasn't changed - it's still just purified air - the mind haas completely revised its olfactory response. We unknowningly deceive ourselves." ~ Jonah Lehrer

Some Tips for Guitar Players

1. Picks Are NOT a Good Investment: When visiting a music store resist the temptation to purchase five picks - four of them will disappear with a week - you will hold on to that last one for over a year or more. Get one.

2. Be Careful of that G String When Changing Strings: The end of a G string embedded in the fleshy part of your thumb or a finger is painful. You can get away with accidentally pushing the end of the bass strings and the B and E will probably just bend, but the G string will go in to the bone. Just saying.

3. The Dreaded F Chord: The F chord is likely the first chord you'll encounter where you have to simultaneously play two strings with one finger - and they're both on the f-ing first fret! Ouch! It's not totally necessary to learn the F chord though, unless you enjoy the sense of accomplishment this painful endeavour brings. F chords are why capos were invented.
